City plans reviewed in a bulletin and introduced at a fair

Helsinki City Planning Department publishes an annual city planning review (Kaavoituskatsaus). The bulletin reviews the main ongoing city and traffic planning projects in the city.

It is distributed to all Helsinki households free of charge. The latest city planning review has now been published and distributed.

The current bulletin introduces the major planning and development projects of Helsinki, including those ongoing in Jätkäsaari, Hernesaari, Central Pasila (Keski-Pasila), Kalasatama and Kruunuvuorenranta.

The city planning review is published in Finnish and Swedish and includes an English language summary. It is also available online (pdf). See the English summary on pages 44-45.

Helsinki City Planning Department will organize a city planning fair at its downtown information and exhibition space Laituri from April 5 to 9. Planners will be on hand to introduce projects throughout the week answering questions from visitors.

A closer feel of Helsinki’s new residential and workplace areas can be obtained at Virka Galleria in City Hall where a lit scale model of Helsinki is on display. 3D scale models of the future developments of Kalasatama, Keski-Pasila, Jätkäsaari and Hernesaari have been planted on the aerial photo.
